What goes best with Tomato Soup? That’s right! A yummy grilled cheese. Well this grilled cheese with a twist. I took a Caprese Salad and turned it into a delicious addition to your basic tomato soup. I did a lot a comparing to find a bead that was not super high in sodium to ensure this dish stayed lower in sodium.
Again, this is a nice choice when you fresh basil to bump up the flavor, but you can always used dried basil in a pinch.
Tomato Basil Mozzarella Grilled Cheese
Equipment
Ingredients
- 4 slices bread Your choice
- 4 slices tomato
- 2 slices Mozzarella
- 4 basil leaves
- 4 tbsp butter No salt
Instructions
- Butter one side of a slice of bread
- Place it in a heated pan butter side down
- Layer on the tomato, mozzarella and basil
- Top with another slice of bread butter that slice on the outside
- Flip sandwich once the first side is brown
- cook until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melty
